At the dawn of a new year, there are many aspirations, hopes and dreams that we have and sometimes share with each other.
At the close of the old year, there are many joys, sorrows and memories that we sometimes share with each other.
What we usually do not share are the 'what-ifs'. What if I had been more faithful in that situation in 2012? What if I had trusted God more in 2012? What if I had obeyed the voice of God more in 2012? What if I had doubted less in 2012?
What do you think could have been accomplished by you and God IF...? What if?
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” Numbers 13:30-31 KJV
What would have happened to the Children of Israel if Caleb had been more forceful? What if the other spies had greater faith in God? What if Caleb had discussed it with them on the way back and convinced them of God's Power?
What would have been different? Then? Now? What if?
As we stand at the beginning of this road called 2013 and look forward, let's look all the way forward to the end of this road. Will you have any 'what if' regrets or moments?
Be more faithful.
Be more encouraged - and encouraging.
Trust God more.
Believe God more.
When the enemy seems great, remember that God is greater. When the obstacle seems insurmountable, remember what God has done for you in the past. Remember your Red Sea? God can do it again. Push forward. Have no regrets this time next year.
No 'what ifs'.
