That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3
That's really all I want to do. I want to share (proclaim) what I have seen and heard.
I can't even bear sometimes to use all of the lingo that is so very foreign to those who do not walk with God. See? I did it right there. "walk with God" Well, they don't even know what that means. Again. "They". Why is it always a them and us discussion? If I was to "share my testimony" with you, it would start out something like "before I was saved" or "Once I got saved". It's so foreign, really.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
Yup. So then, what do we do?
OK. Here it goes. I am going to share what I have seen. Why? So that you too may have fellowship with us (me), because my fellowship is with God and Jesus.
What I have seen:
I've seen a terrified young 20-something man turn from a destructive lifestyle to a stable life including a happy marriage and happy children.
I have seen a drug addicted alcoholic become a leader in recovery and restoration.
I have seen a high school graduate become the founder and owner of a very successful business.
I have seen an abused young man grow into a loving husband and father.
I have seen all of that and more - simply by looking in the mirror.
I have also seen legs grow.
I have seen deaf ears opened.
I have seen cancer cured.
I have seen the lame walk.
I have seen the dead brought back to life.
I have seen the dumb speak.
I have seen marriages restored.
I have seen mankind redeemed.
I have seen God at work over and over and over and over again.
The change that God has made in my own life and the change that I have seen Him make in others lives is no less than amazing. Following Him, loving Him, living for Him and fellowship with Him has been worth everything I gave up for Him.
That's what I have seen and heard.
