HUMILTY

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

Walk Humbly.

Walking humbly with God is simplified in one word: OBEDIENCE

If we obey God's Word, we are walking humbly with Him.

If we obey His direction on a daily basis, we are walking humbly with Him.

If we do justly and love mercy, we are walking humbly with Him.

Do Justly.
Love Mercy.
Walk Humbly.
It's basic.

MERCY

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

God has shown us in His Word what it is that He wants from us.

Love Mercy.

When you truly love something, you place it before yourself.  I love my wife.  I love my children.  I place their interests before myself.

If I love mercy, I am going to grant mercy to someone even if it means that I will suffer or be denied something through that merciful action.

Someone lied about you? Mercy. Justly.

Rebellious children? Mercy. Justly.

Know someone that requires extra effort on your part to maintain the relationship?  In Spanish, there is a word: pesada (pay-SA-da).  It means 'heavy'.  It can be applied to a person also.  Someone who is 'pesada' is very needy; always causing you to be on your toes - so as not to offend them.  They are easily offended. These people are very heavy on your emotions and patience and attention.

Pesada people require mercy ~ and grace ~ lots of it ~ at least until they can be delivered!

Love Mercy. Place Mercy before all else. Justly.

JUSTICE

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

God has shown us in His Word what it is that He wants from us.

Do Justly.

Give to everyone what they are due to receive, what they have earned.

This can carry both positive and negative consequences.  But above all, it must be just; it must be righteous.  Give every man according to his works.

Be just in all of your dealings.

Give praise. Give correction.  Give guidance. Give justly.

Be fair.

LOVE

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

It's true. As wretched as we once were (or maybe still are), the Father's love was so great that he delivered up His only Son for us; the sacrifice offered for that same wretchedness.

Not only does he give us physical life; holding our mortal lives together with His very Presence, but then adds to such grace, the payment for sins, granting us eternal life with Him.

To add even more to that, He has sent His Spirit to dwell with us and in us as believers.  This then is the fullness of His Grace, Mercy and Love ~ the fullness that we can bear witness to, up to this point, until heaven, our eternal destination becomes our present home.

May your desire for more of His Presence grow richly in you as you seek His Face. And may His great love for you, his child be made manifest in the Presence with which He surrounds and indwells you.

His Love for you is great.

Knowledge begins with fear and respect for the LORD, but stubborn fools hate wisdom and refuse to learn.
